Delivery of Life-Saving Medical Supplies to Ukraine
Our Mission:
In late August, Hector Copcutt and George Beattie will be delivering up to £150,000 worth of medical supplies to a hospital on the Ukraine-Polish border. From there, the supplies will be distributed to hospitals, clinics, and frontline responders throughout Ukraine, where access to medical care is becoming increasingly scarce and vital.
The Journey:
We will travel around 4,500 km in a VW transporter van, starting from Coventry and passing through France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and finally to a hospital just West from the Polish-Ukraine border. The round trip is expected to take us under a week, but could be longer due to border controls and other unforeseen factors. We will update you on our journey via the GoFundMe page.
Why It Matters:
The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has caused immense destruction, separating families and claiming lives. Approximately 14.6 million people in Ukraine need humanitarian support, with countless casualties and injuries requiring urgent medical care. The Ukrainian healthcare system is under immense pressure, with many facilities damaged. Additionally, 3.7 million internally displaced people have little access to basic healthcare, making external aid even more crucial.
About the Charity:
We have chosen to work with UK to Ukraine as we know them personally and have seen the amazing work they do. UK to Ukraine collaborates directly with Healing Hands Network registered charity no 10802096 supporting the incredible work they do in Ukraine.
How You Can Help:
The journey is estimated to cost around £1,800, including fuel, ferry's, tolls, accommodation and border fees. We are aiming to raise a further £3,200 for the charities that have made this possible. This money will support the front line evacuations in Ukraine. We would like to thank UK to Ukraine who have given us this opportunity to deliver these supplies and Healing Hands Network who have supplied the medical aid. Another thanks to Lovelock's polo stud who have kindly lent us their van. We would really appreciate any further support in helping us deliver this essential aid to the Ukrainian people.
Your Impact:
By supporting this journey, you will help save lives and show international support for the brave people of Ukraine. Thank you for your generosity and support.
