Help Us Cover Van Costs on Our West Coast Tour!

Hello, our indefatigable band Kayo Dot has received the amazing opportunity to open up a few shows for the legendary troupe Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, on their upcoming reunion tour! This is a realy big deal for us, as on this tour we'll have the chance to play for more people than we ever have before. It's likely to be a big step forward for this crazy dream I've been working on for so long.

This fundraiser is to help us offset some tour costs, mainly van rental, which for our large ensemble will be around $300 per day. Our fees for the concerts are actually totally decent for an opening band but as the shows are happening on the US West Coast, where most of the band is not based, a bit of travel is involved. And of course, we really want to be able to do this as the full lineup and not pare down– as I've seen through recent performances, Kayo Dot's music really works best when it's bigger.

You may remember that I ran a fundraiser for our Europe tour back in february, which raised about $7000. Thank you so much for your totally crucial support at that time. Even though the tour went well, the shows were full, and we sold a lot of merch, the tour only ended up breaking even and without that fundraiser I would have been $7000 in the hole. Things are just so expensive these days, and as you've surely heard from many bands around the internet, today's high costs make touring for independent artists very difficult if not impossible. So anything you can contribute to the cause will be so helpful and forever appreciated!

It'll be our first West Coast tour in several years. And who knows, if the whole trip looks to be financially sound, a few more dates might open up.
