Help us communicate in an emergency

Ham Emergency Radio Operations, Inc. (a 501(c)(3) charitable organization) is seeking funds to complete a 2 meter repeater station which includes the purchase of a 2 meter duplexer and the purchase and installation of a commercial grade antenna for the 2 meter repeater station.

Our organization was founded to provide assistance to the amateur radio community in the event they are required to support communication requirements during an emergency or disaster in Hendricks County.  Our organization hopes it never happens, but we need to be prepared to supply communications to Hendricks County if we were to experience the same thing that happened to Joplin Missouri in 2011 as a result of the tornado outbreak where they lost all police, fire and emergency communication capability.

The County Council has provided funds for us to setup two radio repeater stations.  One is a 70cm repeater station located across from the county fairgrounds which will be operational soon.  The second is a 2 meter repeater station to be located on Danville School Corp. property.

However, the funds provided by the county did not completely cover the purchase of all the equipment required for the setup of a 2 meter repeater station.  The 2 meter repeater radio and the feed line has been purchased using funds from the county.  But we are in need of a 2 meter duplexer, antenna, and installation of the antenna in order to complete this station.  The duplexer provides the ability to utilize a different transmit frequency from the receive frequency on the same antenna without causing interference between the frequencies.  This GoFundMe request is to raise the necessary funds to complete the 2 meter repeater installation.
