Our family is going through one of the most heartbreaking moments we’ve ever faced. My mom, Monica, has been fighting breast cancer with incredible strength and grace, but despite every prayer and every ounce of hope, the cancer has now spread to her brain. She is currently on home hospice care, surrounded by family and love as we prepare for what’s to come.

Watching someone you love fight so hard and knowing there’s nothing more you can do but keep them comfortable is a pain that words can’t describe. Over the past weeks, her condition has declined rapidly. She is no longer very responsive, and we are now hearing the “death rattle,” a sign that our time with her is nearing its end. Every moment is sacred, and every breath feels both heavy and precious.

What This Has Meant for Our Family:

This journey has impacted our family in ways we never imagined. Between constant care, missed work, and the emotional toll of preparing for the inevitable, our world has completely shifted. My mom devoted her life to helping others as a nurse, a caretaker, and a friend. Now, we want to make sure we honor her with the same love and dignity she’s always shown to everyone around her.

Unfortunately, the financial strain of this situation has been significant. From in-home care needs to basic household bills and future memorial expenses, we’re doing everything we can but we’ve reached a point where we need help.
