Help us buy a beautiful headstone for Athena
Athena Edith Wyatt was our precious, beautiful baby girl, born on the 12th March 2021.
The fact that Athy was born alive at all was a miracle. She had many defects caused by an extra copy of the 18th chromosome - a condition otherwise known as Trisomy 18: Edwards Syndrome.
She lived for one precious day and passed away peacefully and surrounded with love
She worked so hard to give us the hours that she did. We had prayed so hard that we would get to bring her home with us, but when she revealed her secrets after birth, we discovered that problems caused by the extra chromosome were so much more devastating than had shown on the scan - and were tragically not survivable for our precious girl.
I can never ever thank Athena enough for having the strength to meet us - every moment was so precious. She 'came back' once during her time here, after 'dying' for 4 minutes - and I'm sure it was because she felt she still needed a bit more time with us.
It was a miracle.

Her strength and story has touched the lives of hundreds of people around the globe. She stands for the fair and equitable treatment of all special needs babies; especially those from the Trisomy 18 community.
She also stands for every single life counting in this world. No matter how brief. She taught us that life is not about the amount of days you live, but by the quality of the moments you do have whilst you're here.
She stands for the purest and most powerful of all love.
We now need to buy a headstone for Athena, and would so very love to have one for her by Christmas.
We are running this fundraiser so that we can get her a headstone for her grave that is deserving of the level of hope and love and faith and teachings that she brought into the world with her.
A headstone fit for a warrior princess whose memory and story will forever remain a shining beacon of light for others.
