Help us repatriate and bury our friend Jim

THANK YOU all.  What a blessing for so many generous caring people.  I have updated the amount ro reflect EXACT COST.  Monies collected will go to Lawson funeral home in Meridian Texas.  It is our goal to have enough to put Jim to rest NEXT week (24 SEP21).  If you can please continue to post to your social media that we still need some help.  You are all so appreciated.  God Bless You!!!

Please help... Jim Underwood was the only child of a single mother who passed away years ago from cancer. She worked tirelessly to put him through college at the University of Texas- Arlington. During his time at UT- Arlington Jim was a proud member of the Maverick Band and remained a loyal Alumni. Jim was an Engineer who enjoyed a few hobbies which consisted of Photography, videography, cycling and was a passionate scuba diver as well as rededicated his life to Christ back in 1995. Sadly, over the last several years Jim became more isolated and alone in this world and when COVID 19 hit the quarantine led to an ever deeper depression with added further isolation.

Jim spent his time online helping so many with his wisdom of Mac scripts, databases, systems integration and more.  So many have some forth with stories how he reached through the electrons to help so many.  It is this legacy he is also leaving behind.

On July 31st 2021, Jim had decided that it was finally time to reclaim his life and become apart of society again, and felt that it was safe enough for him to do so, by taking a cruise out of Galveston, TX on the Carnival Vista. Jim was excited and looked forward to scuba diving in the Caribbean blue waters. However, on August 4th of this year during a planned scuba excursion in Belize tragedy struck. Unfortunately Jim passed away alone, with his body left in a foreign country, sitting in a morgue awaiting to be brought back home to the United States and be laid to rest next to his mother who had bought a burial site next to hers years prior to her passing so that they can be laid to rest next to each other eternally.

Jim doesn't have any family as they all have passed on before him and what few friends he did have left, have gotten together to try and bring him home but we need your help to repatriate his remains so he can be buried on American soil. We are humbly asking for your help to bring Jim home to Texas and onto American soil so that he can have a proper goodbye and be laid to rest next to his mother with a small headstone marker. Please if you feel moved by this story we would gladly accept any donation you or your organization is willing to provide.
