<div>The Liberia Youth Safe Home Project is dedicated to building a secure, long-term residential facility for at-risk young females between the ages of 10 and 24. This home will be a safe haven — a place where they can live, learn, and grow in peace.

<div>My name is Garmai Zakama, and I am the founder of the Liberia Youth Safe Home Project. I was born in Liberia and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Growing up between two worlds allowed me to see both the potential and the challenges that young girls face — especially those living without safety, guidance, or opportunity.

<div>With over eight years of experience working in the field of youth care and community development, I’ve dedicated my life to supporting young people. I began my journey as a Community Support Worker at the age of 19, and since then, I’ve served as a Youth Support Worker, Group Home Coordinator, and Foster Parent.
</div>

<div>Through these roles, I’ve worked closely with at-risk youth, helping them find stability, healing, and purpose. My experiences inspired me to create the Liberia Youth Safe Home Project — a place that offers young women in Liberia the same safety, guidance, and opportunities I’ve spent my career providing to youth in Canada.
