Help us Bring Immigrant Children to Summer Camp

Tax deductible
Many of our immigrant and low-income neighbors have a huge anxiety in the summer: Can you imagine being a parent who needs to work all summer to support their family but cannot afford to send their child to daycare or summer camp, and instead needs to leave them in the care of an 11-year old sibling or an uncertain situation. There are many such families in our community.

Seed Song Center has always gone out of its way to welcome a high percentage of these families into our camp on scholarship. This program may top the list of those that speak directly to our hearts and to our mission, summed up as Beloved Regeneration.

As part of Seed Song’s mission to make our produce and programs available to ALL regardless of means, we are raising money for the camper scholarship fund: a fund that enables us to offer this fun and formative summer experience of farm, friends, and nature to a maximum number of immigrant and low-income families.

Every dollar will go towards helping these children have an amazing summer experience.

Through collaboration with a local immigrant support organization, many families have been identified as having critical need for a camp program in order for the parent(s) to continue working.

Often these families are in need of scholarship funds, transportation, and translation.

We will use the funds towards scholarships for these children to attend, as well as to make our camp more accessible by providing services that ease those above barriers for these families, including:

1. transportation
2. providing meals
3. communication

Already in the works:

Many families are waiting to be registered

Two Q’ech’i - speaking (native Guatemalan language) counselors waiting to be hired

A vegetable-oil powered bus is waiting to be leased

Kitchen equipment is waiting to be ordered

We are appreciative of any contribution you are able to make, as well as spreading the message to people who may feel connected to our mission.
