In her case, "refractory myoclonic seizures" indicates that her seizures are particularly stubborn and have not been effectively controlled by previous interventions, including multiple brain surgeries.

<div>Currently, Ryan is undergoing surgery for a VNS implant, another vital step in managing her condition. In our ongoing efforts to support Ryan, we've applied for a specially trained seizure dog from <a href="https://www.4pawsforability.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">4 Paws for Ability</a> .  This specially trained companion will offer vital support, potentially alerting us to seizures and providing assistance when they occur, allowing Ryan to live her life more safely and freely.
