Since Oakbridge, Blue took me to my first schooling shows in the hunter and jumper rings, taught my sister to ride western took her to some barrel racing shows, as well as taught my little brother how to lead, groom, tack up, and ride on his own. He has more then earned his retirement.
Today, at 22 years young, he is fighting for his life in OVC after being diagnosed with colitis.
Blue needs to be hospitalized for his severe dehydration and badly distended colon. He is also on strong antibiotics and pain medication to keep him comfortable while he fights. The vets think he is a good candidate for treatment, but it all comes down to how long we can afford to keep him there.
His emergency vet care has already cost about $3000, and we are running out of money to keep him at the hospital. Without him staying there on fluids and antibiotics, he won't survive. Please consider helping us make sure he gets the treatment he needs, so that we are able to bring him home and give him the long, peaceful retirement he deserves. He is loved so dearly by me and my family, as well as his other equine brothers and sister desperately awaiting his return.
