I am opening this GoFundMe for my uncle Rick and cousin Elizabeth, who unexpectedly lost their home yesterday when a tree crashed onto it, taking down nearby power lines, and burning their home down literally within minutes.

My uncle was trapped inside when the tree smashed in the door, but he miraculously made it out in time, and was able to rescue their family dog.

He could only watch helplessly as everything they owned was burned to the ground.

Thankfully, my cousin was not in the home at the time, but they lost everything except the clothes on their back and their vehicles. My uncle lives on a fixed income, so this has been especially devastating.

They have homeowners insurance, but it is my hope that proceeds from this fund will cover what insurance cannot, and assist them in the wait period.

It’s times like these when we realize what’s really important in life, and I’m so grateful that they are physically ok!
