Just over one year ago Tyler Vierling headed across Cedar Street in Lansing Michigan, with coffee in hand, and was struck by a vehicle. Tyler has been a true Miracle because he was not expected to live! If he did live, he was never expected to recover brain functions, talk again, or walk again - we are truly Blessed - he is doing all of this!!!
It has been the fight of his life, the courage and strength Tyler displays while keeping a positive attitude and a smile on his face amazes us daily. All the many broken bones have healed, even his left eye that was completely blind -the vision has been restored, but the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) will take many years for recovery. Tyler's TBI injury has affected his memory, body movement, walking, talking, and learning. Only 20% is even known about our brains and how they recover.
Watching Tyler relearn how to do everything that most of us take for granted has been a truly humbling experience. He faces more surgeries and years of therapies but with his determination, positive attitude, and true Faith, he will recover. He has made this Awesome Recovery surrounded in the love and support of so many friends and family - we can never Thank all of you enough!
Anyone who has ever dealt with our auto insurance system or healthcare system, during an emergency or tragedy, understands the amount of bureaucracy, red tape, and time that it takes to accomplish even the simplest tasks.
