My name is Lauren Akindele, I'm a 21 year old Black-Latina trans woman living in LA. Because of extreme trauma from SA/CSA and related childhood experiences I am unable to currently pursue work to support my transition. I currently survive on selling art, tutoring critical theory, and the generosity of my friends and followers. Last Monday, I took a major step toward my transition goals, undergoing my first transition related surgery. Though my recovery has been relatively positive, I've realized that I am still not in a financial position where I can comfortably continue to pursue all aspects of my transition through the next 6-8 months. I am asking for help right now so that I can continue to comfortably transition and meet my ideal transition timeline with as little hassle as possible. With your help I will be able to get bottom surgery and complete my major transition timeline by summer of next year.
If you decide to support me, your funds will be used to pay for:
* My HRT regiment for the next 8 months; 15$ a month per pill, with plans to start progesterone in two months (~330$)
* The rest of my speech therapy appointments; 10$ per appointment, with 4-5 appointments left (50$)
* Electrolysis for my face; 10$ per appointment plus 60$ for high concentrate lidocane, over 8-10 appointments (~220$)
* Gender affirmation surgery (aka bottom surgery), including surgery prep and recovery; surgery, bottom electrolysis, food, medications (~2400$)
* Rent during the month I will be recovering from bottom surgery (1000$)
