Help Troby get a wheelchair van

Hey everyone! I am setting up this Gofund me for a very good friend of mine, Troby Thompson. Some of you probably know her and know what a sweet person she is. Troby  has been faced with many challenges in life since she was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. She is currently going through a very difficult time in her life. She has lived with MD for the last 33 years. Due to a major knee injury and multiple surgeries she has had to make major changes in her life and learn to live from a wheelchair. If any of you know her, you know that she is such a beautiful, positive person and has handled this life very gracefully. This process has been very stressful to say the least, but she is conquering it and has gone back to work excited about life and her freedom again! But as you can imagine when you sit in a wheelchair and drive such a modified vehicle, there are always issues...whether it’s breakdowns with the van or needing new parts for her wheelchair. Every 5 years the State in most circumstances will help financially with the cost, but there is a 6 month waiting list and the State doesn’t have the funds to help, it is trying to leave Troby feeling hopeless. She just moved from Oklahoma to Missouri and is running into dead ends to get financial assistance with these very expensive costs! She just got a wonderful job that is emotionally rewarding and needs a new van to get her to work. Her Van is getting old and continues to break down. She has to find a specialist that is certified to work on her conversion which the closest is an hour and a half away. This leaves her having to figure out a way to work, because of her wheelchair, she has to take a mobility shuttle or city bus just to get to work. She has been told by the mobility specialist it’s time to start looking towards getting a new car. The cost of a vehicle plus the lowered floor from Braun mobility is around $55,000 to 70,000. The conversion is separate and cost around $90,000!!! So to be able to live independently and work in the community, she is going to need help getting this new vehicle. I couldn’t imagine how hard it would be to live life in a wheel chair and not have a way to get to work. We think we have issues with life?
Therefore, as her friend, I am asking all of my friends to share with your friends and let’s help her raise money for a dependable new van! She needs to raise as much money as she possibly can, but I think our goal should be around $65,000. That’s a lot of money to raise, but nothing is too big or too small for God to handle and I think we can do this!!! It seems simple when you think about it like this, if we can get 700 people to donate $100 or 1400 people to donate $50, she can reach her goal! But any amount you can afford to give is a blessing and will be one step closer to hitting her goal!
Please help me... to help Troby who is trying to live independently and who WANTS to work and not give up!! Let’s start sharing with all our friends and make this happen!!
