Yesterday, my daughter Tristina Smith was in a car accident and broke her back.

She was rushed to Maine Med for emergency surgery on her spine at the trauma unit as the vertebrae burst and shattered, with part of the bone going into her spinal cord. Today is day 1 of what will be a long, hard road to recovery for her. She's now out of work, has no car, and will need a ton of help and a lot of support with her recovery and finances. She has 3 little girls she provides for and transports back and forth to school, daycare, doctors, etc.

I am trying to help her with the finances she will not have from work, help towards a car as she had no coverage, and medical supplies she will need for her recovery at home. Additionally, she will need transportation to and from medical appointments and therapy, etc. If you can't help financially, I am asking if you would please send her a some flowers, a card, a prayer, anything to let her know there are still people that care. She was and is heartbroken because as she lay there alone and scared, blowing the horn waiting for someone to help her, she watched as every car just drove by, not even slowing down or trying to make sure she was okay.please help me is showing her she's not alone and people do still care.

2/14 update: Tristina has been released and is currently staying with a family member but,was definitely not ready to be released from the hospital.Sadly the decision to release her came from her financial situation and not being able to afford her stay any longer.Tristina has medical supplies she is in need of and slowly getting them one by one thanks to the financial support from here. She was able to buy a walker to help assist her walking.She still has a long road ahead of her and alot of work to do but,with everyone helping to get her their it's made a huge impact and she is blessed to have so much support.
