Help Her Sun Prairie Gas Explosion

Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart, but also a hope in the kindness of others that I write this. Many of you know that I have an older sister named Trina, who lives in Sun Prairie, WI, who I love very much. She is a disabled veteran, and she is a generous and caring person who never asks of things from others, but is always there when you need someone to lean on. On July 10th, the apartment that she had just moved into 10 days prior, was tragically destroyed in the gas explosion that ripped through that community. My condolences go out to all of the people and families affected by this event including the injured emergency rescue workers and civilians, and especially the family of Fire Captain Cory Barr, who gave the ultimate sacrifice displaying true bravery as he gave his life saving others.

As you can imagine, my sister lost everything she owned when her apartment was destroyed. There isn’t even a place for her to return to, let alone any chance of her recovering anything from the explosion. That is why I am asking for your help. I know that what truly matters is that she is okay and not injured from this incident, and I have been thanking God for that ever since I heard the news. But if you can imagine for just a minute, everything you owned, disappearing in the blink of an eye, you can imagine then how hard it is to get back to normal and settled back in when you are starting from nothing. The clothes on her back that she evacuated her apartment wearing and her dog Haley, are all that she has left. They say that when in danger you should just run because “things can always be replaced”, well that is the exact situation she is in, and she could definitely use some help. Any little bit means a lot and can help getting her back on track and replacing the things she needs (clothes, hygiene products, dog supplies, food). While some things can never be replaced (photos, heirlooms that our mother left to her) plenty of things can be. Donations in the form of money are appreciated, but so would any donations of clothing (size 12-14), dog supplies, food, or anything else you would see fit.

Thank you in advance for anything that you can contribute to help with her recovery and may God bless all of you. I know that my family and I will continue to pray for all of those affected and hope that soon this can be put behind us.

Thank You
