Hello.
I am an out Transgender man. I am blessed enough that I have succesfully navigated the sometimes difficult system and was able to obtain all of my documents in my chosen name and gender.
Trump becoming President will make obtaining these documents very difficult for Transfolk. It is imperative for the safety of Transfolk that they have their documents (birth certificate, license, name change, social security) in their correct name and gender. This can be expensive.
Transfolk are often low income, at risk of being a victim of a hate crime, passed over for jobs and generally discriminated against.
The goal of this fundraiser is to help offset or fund the cost of needed documents for as many Transfolk as possible. This doesn't always cost a lot, sometimes people just need $10-20 to help.
It is crucial that Transfolk get this help prior to January 20th, 2017. I really want to make life easier for my Trans community and if you have any ability to help, even a dollar, please consider helping.
If this fundraiser passes the requested amount I will just keep helping people.
