Hi! I'm Emily, and I’m creating this fundraiser for myself, my husband, our 3-year-old son, and our cat as we work to relocate from Texas to Portland, Oregon, where we have a healthy support system ready for us. I am a trans woman and my husband is a trans man, and this move means so much to our family as we work toward a safer, more stable life. We are doing everything we can to make this move happen before our lease ends in a few months. We have also already lined up jobs there, and we are working hard to make it happen.

 We spoke with a relocation expert in Portland, who estimated that the move will cost around $3,000. We have already saved about $1,500 on our own, but we still need help covering the remaining costs, including a moving container and early rent. Our goal is to move between October and the end of February, with October being ideal because that is when our lease is up. It would be extremely difficult with the increasing cost to go month to month while still trying to save for the move. Any support will go directly toward helping us get there so we can establish our lives in a place where we can truly move forward as we are without compromise and present better opportunities for our child to grow.

 Please help get me and my family somewhere safe to live our lives to the fullest. We are putting in our best effort to move but with increasing laws and restrictions in this state we feel the need to move sooner rather than later.
