Help Trans Child and Family Relocate

My name is Kim and I am the mother of a beautiful, amazing trans kid.

Today Governor Kay Ivey signed SB184 into law. This prohibits gender affirming healthcare for Alabama residents under the age of 18 and makes it a Class C felony for doctors to provide gender affirming care.

My daughter is 12 and just started puberty blockers (Lupron) in January of this year. She is due for her next shot in a few weeks. This law makes it illegal for her to continue this medication and stopping her Lupron shots would force her to go through male puberty. Doing this would have a dangerous impact on her mental health and cause irreversible damage to her body.

We had already planned to move back to our home state of Massachusetts, but this law is forcing us to expedite the move. I am creating this GoFundMe to hopefully alleviate some of the financial burden of having to move so quickly.

The current goal is $10,000 (although could change based on any additional costs that arrise). This figure is based on the cost to move/ship all of our furniture and belongings from Alabama to Massachusetts, gas costs to drive from Alabama to Massachusetts, car repairs to make my vehicle safe enough for the drive (AC repair, alignment, tires).
