Update: as im sure you all know, Tony succumbed to his illness in February 2022. Now i am still looking for a job and am facing my own possible rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis. I have had pain and other issues for over a decade that were undiagnosed by my former doctor. I am in pain every day and have simply pushed through for the sake of living and helpimg my loved ones through their daily lives. The work prospects aren't good with limited mobility and still there is no money coming in. I know Tony  wanted me to stay in our comfy apartment and get better, but with no money coming in, i fear my world is unraveling.  Anything helps and i appreciate what people have done so far. This is super hard for me as i have always worked hard and it hurts to sit here with close to nothing to show for all my hard work. Any donations are appreciated.  Love to you all .   

Hi friends, family and IATSE brothers & sisters of Tony Gomes. I am Betsy, Tony's girlfriend, and I am humbly asking for your help. Tony has always been a hard worker but the last two years have been difficult medically. He had a 2 hip surgeries in 2019/2020. Ready to go back to work, Covid19 hit and gig work shut down leaving him and many of you on unemployment. Hoping 2021 was going to be better, he was again hit medically. Atrial Fibrillation and Atrial Flutter put him in the hospital for a week and another medical procedure. Now, just as concerts are coming back, Tony has been diagnosed with an aggressive Acute Myeloid Leukemia and is on a course of chemotherapy and bi-weekly blood and platelet transfusions that have left him weak , tired and unable to work. We are hoping to get him into remission so he can hopefully have a bone marrow transplant. If you are 18-44 please consider being a marrow donor at BETHEMATCH.ORG. even if not for Togo, others need your help. The unemployment has been exhausted and there is no money coming in. We don't know what medical bills will be forthcoming, but with no income, rent, utilities, food and other bills won't get paid without the generosity of others. We are asking for your help to keep your friend and colleague going until he can kick this cancers butt and get back to what he loves. Anything that you can spare is greatly appreciated. Prayers and positive vibes are needed as well.
