Hello, my name is Lisa Stark, thank you for taking the time to read this. I am setting up this medical fundraising campaign on behalf of my sister Jeanette Parvu-Fish and brother-in-law Tony Fish as they navigate the difficult journey that lies ahead of them.

On Friday September 19th, my brother-in-law Tony was admitted into the hospital after an MRI showed an aggressive tumor in his temporal lobe. He had been experiencing headaches and minor cognitive symptoms for several months and had been following up with his doctors.

After consulting with neurologists at the hospital, they received the extremely difficult news that his tumor is incurable, and the plan moving forward is to manage symptoms and give him more time.

Their plan is start with surgery next week to remove as much of the primary tumor as possible and run tests on the tumor. His doctors are positive it is a glioblastoma. After they determine the type, follow up treatments such as chemo, radiation, and/or other medication will follow. Surgery is extremely scary for several reasons. Surgery of the brain is delicate, and loss of function is a real risk. He will be awake during surgery to help reduce damage.

Another reason this is scary is the financial impact. Jeanette and Tony just had their youngest daughter, Ruby in May. Their oldest daughter, Nora is 6 years old. They exhausted all of their leave and even took extra without pay to be home with their girls and help Nora adjust to being a big sister. The timing could not be worse.

This news has rocked our family. It's heartbreaking and hard to wrap our heads around. We are a close-knit group. We are doing everything we can support Jeanette, Tony, and their girls during this very difficult time. They are such a caring family and are always there for others when they are going through difficult things. It's our time to be there for them and lift them up in their time of need.

All funds raised in this campaign will go to help pay for medical expenses and lost wages. As you can imagine, this is worst news a young family can get intertwined in what should be one of the happiest times.
