The Cambridge Poetry MashUp is happening this April! We need your help to make it a great national poetry month celebration for our city. There will be FOUR EVENTS - live streamed, with some in person socially distanced events. https://www.poetrymashup.org/
THIS Poetry MashUp is necessary and needs your support because:
1. We are dedicated to being diverse and inclusionary - to making space that welcomes poetic voices usually unheard: youth, teenagers, elders, queer folk, women, and people of color. Those who are often heard are included too!
2. Poetry and music heals, especially - in a season of health and racial pandemics
3. THE event is free to the public. It is important that ALL Citizens are welcomed.
PLEASE HELP US MAKE THIS HISTORIC EVENT SERIES HAPPEN.
As community organizers, we believe in paying people for their work: headline poets, event hosts, and those working behind the scenes to make this happen. Monies raised will also go toward: fliers, chair rentals, snacks and water, hand sanitizers - for the comfort of citizens to enjoy the poetry.
In total we are looking to raise $4,050 in total. The good news is, we're starting with $1,210 in the bank! We raised those funds last year before the pandemic shut down our plans. So we now have $3,000 to raise...can you help us? Every donation, no matter how small, gets us closer to making this a reality!
