Hi everyone ! My name is Joanna. I was an alcoholic who very much needed help. I heard about Learn to Fish recovery ( founded in 2007 ) for women and children last year and was accepted into their recovery program October 31, 2019.  I was welcomed into a very spacious home ran by very loving and caring staff. I met Sabrina ( The founder and owner ) the first day that I was there. She was very friendly, bubbly, kind , caring and she treated me like I was family. Suddenly on June 1st, 2020 Sabrina passed away. After her death it has been a struggle to keep the recovery center open. Covid 19 also had a major impact in being able to keep the recovery center up and running. Sabrinas mission was to help women beat addiction as well as family reunification and/or keeping mothers together with their children while going through the program. Learn to Fish offers a vast amount of services which includes addiction classes, mental health counseling, taking women and children to appointments, church, bible studies, AA and NA meetings and more. They have already depleted their funds for the year and struggling to keep the doors open for the vast majority of women struggling with addiction. LTF is the only non profit organization in Manatee county that accepts women with children. Since Sabrinas death, Her daughter Paige has taken on the responsibility of keeping her mother's legacy alive and trying to keep the recovery center open. 52409378_1604951003566692_r.jpeg52409378_1604951038718791_r.jpeg52409378_1604951131616398_r.jpeg52409378_1604951217751183_r.jpeg52409378_1604951271471537_r.jpeg52409378_1604951325752540_r.jpegI've started this go fund me in hopes that LTF can acquire the funds that they need to stay open. This recovery center saved my life ! I met several wonderful ladies during my time at LTF who also, like me, successfully completed the program. I witnessed family reunifications which was wonderful to see happen ! Please help if you can, even if it's only $1. No donation is too small !!! Thank you in advance for your donation !!!!!!52409378_1604973641390210_r.jpeg
