Help To Get Lexi Her Surgery

Hi, my names Alexandria the Greatness or as I like to go by, Lexi. I'm a 4 year old black lab who loves to run around and play with my baby sister (she's pictured with me below). She and I get into all sorts of mischief together, which is probably how I ended up in this mess. A little while ago one of my back legs started bothering me, so I just started putting less pressure on it and went about my way. My parents took me to the scary vet who gave me some yummy gummies to try and help my legs. However after a little while with no change, they took me back for some xrays. It was a little scary having to leave my momma, but I braved through it a took a nice nap while the doctors looked at my legs. 

The doctors found out that I ruptured both of the ligaments in my back legs. Its similar to the ACL in humans, in dogs it's called the cranial cruciate ligament. We have to get it fixed sooner rather than later so that way I don't develop arthritis in my knees. The kind of surgery I need to have is called tibial-plateau-leveling osteotomy or TPLO for short. It'll stabilize my knees so that way we don't have to worry about this happening ever again! Unfortunately the surgery has a 8 week recovery time in which I won't be able to walk upstairs, and for the first several weeks walk at all!! While my parents want to make sure I'm okay, they can't afford for both of my legs to be fixed because it cost $3800 per leg, so a total of $7600 (and that's before something crazy called taxes).  We're hoping to be able to schedule my first surgery for the beginning of August!

We would really appreciate any and all help you can give me. I'm only 4 years old, still a baby with a lot of energy and love to give. I can't wait to be able to go on long walks, go to the dog park, roll around in the dirt, and play with my baby sister, something I haven't been able to do since I hurt my legs.

PS, I will say though, one perk I'll miss is having my dad carry me up the stairs and put me into bed every night.
