Help To Get By - Post Surgery

The Background:

Hardship hits the just and unjust. It comes when we least expect it to and usually takes more from our lives than we could possibly prepare for.

That's the case here, ten fold.

Nearly 6 years ago, my brother Jason completely transformed his life. For 16 years, he was a mostly homeless and jailed drug addict and alcoholic with nothing but his addictions to lean on. He couldn't take care of himself, let alone a family of 4.

He's been completely sober since February of 2013! Now, he is raising 2 beautiful children with his Fiancée, Danielle. He works full-time and goes to school full-time to be a Dentist earning a 3.1 GPA. He has, by the sweat of his brow completely turned his life around.

The reason I share this with you before getting into their emergent need is because for so many years, as his family, our hands were tied by his addictions. We felt that any help we extended would go to all the wrong places and it broke our hearts to see him struggle. Now that he has transformed his life, with the help of God, we can now fully and freely help him and ask for help on his behalf! This is an incredibly cool experience for us as his family and we are jumping at the opportunity to help him in any way we can.

The Story:

Just over a week ago, Danielle dislocated and broke just about every bone in her ankle and foot while at a park with her son. She was rushed to the ER for examination and was admitted immediately. Long story short, she was put into surgery just a couple days later and is currently home on bedrest and in extreme pain.

Her recovery will be painful and slow. And as I'm sure you're figuring out, this leaves Dani and Jason in a very difficult position.

Dani can't work at all for the first 1-2 months and then can only work on limited terms until she can fully recover.

Jason will have to be home with Dani and the kids much more to help with the day to day while also holding down his job with limited hours and going to school so that he doesn't lose their grants for next semester and a very important internship opportunity that could change the trajectory for his career and finances immensely.

All this to say, they desperately need financial help to get by during this extremely difficult time.

Before the accident, they were already below the poverty line and collecting food stamps just to make ends meet. They live very simply and humbly and rarely, if ever, eat out or spend money on entertainment. They've had their heads down working, trying to provide for their kids the best they could.

This accident simply makes it impossible for them to make ends meet without our help.

They need around 10k to survive while Dani heals from the accident. This covers their living expense deficit for the next 4-6 months and will also help with all of the co-pays they will need for all of her therapy, medications and Doctor appointments.

My hope is that we can all help them together!

Are there 100 people that can give $100?
Are there 200 people that can give $50?
400 people that can give $25?

I'm asking from the bottom of my heart for you to consider helping my family get by.

Anything helps and everything is appreciated!
