Hello, my name is Armando Arganda Jr., and on Wednesday, November 25th, 2025, my best friend and roommate Tino Florin suffered a full-thickness tear (rupture) of his distal esophagus while having dinner with his two children, Sophia and Sky.
The rupture caused severe internal bleeding, and his lungs began filling with blood. Doctors told us that if he had arrived at the hospital even a little later, he likely wouldn’t be here today.
Tino is a single father of two, and everything he does is for his kids. As a self-employed parent, he has always prioritized their well-being above his own, including going without health insurance for himself so he could continue providing for them.
After receiving emergency treatment, Tino is being transported to UCLA, where he will undergo additional surgeries. His injury is extremely severe, and the road ahead will involve multiple complex procedures, an extended hospital stay, and a long, difficult rehabilitation process. Recovery will take time—likely months—and the financial burden is overwhelming.
Between medical bills, loss of income, ongoing care, and the needs of his children, this situation has become more than he and I can shoulder alone.
It is my heartfelt wish to help Tino and his children get through this unimaginably hard and financially devastating time. Anyone who knows Tino knows his kindness, his work ethic, and the way he lights up when he talks about Sophia and Sky. He would give anything for his children—now he desperately needs help for himself, so that he can eventually return home to them.
Your donation will go directly toward:
Emergency and ongoing medical procedures
ICU and hospital costs
Rehabilitation and follow-up treatments
Support for his children during his recovery
Basic living expenses while he is unable to work
No amount is too small. Even sharing this page helps more than you know.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting a father, a great friend, and a truly good human being who deserves the chance to heal and return to the two little people who need him most.
Please keep Tino, Sophia, and Sky in your thoughts and prayers.
