Tiffany is 23 years old and has been on a very long journey that requires her to leave her home for treatment once again. Since there is no cure for endometrosis, she was referred to the Mayo Clinic. She was there for a month but could not come up with $80,000 required up front for treatment due to insurance not covering any of it. She is now going to be seeing a specialist in Ogden Utah. There, he will preform a major surgery that requires him to reconstruct the organs the endometrosis has destroyed.
This fight began when she was sophmore in high school she began to get horrible pain and no one would listen nor figure out what was wrong. By her senior year, her pain was so intense that she could barely get out of bed and passing out due to her pain. Finally, a doctor took her under her wing and was willing to do an exploratory surgery. The results were stage 5 endometriosis. Many of you do not know what this is so, I'll explain.
In the body of a woman with endometriosis, the lining of the uterus that is shed every month is unable to, so it is reobsorbed by the body. It then sticks to other organs and grows like a weed in a garden, wrapping around and over organs. In Tiffany's case, this caused her ovaries and uterus to be mingled together. It is also covering her bowels and bladder and other organ in her body. She has gone through two rounds of Lupron, a drug to force her into a temporary menopause to slow down the growth, and a surgery removing one of her ovaries. With no success, her journey was supposed to come to an end on February 22nd 2017, when she had a FULL hysterectomy and cleaning of her bowels and bladder that had been affected. Mind you, she is 23 years old and will no longer be able to birth a child or even harvest her eggs. They were not able to stop the growth because there was to much of it. Without this surgery Tiffany will have a very short lived life. This surgey will not only save her but give her life back. This girl needs your help!
