Help Tiffany Support Her Son Matteo Through a Life-Threatening Illness

Our Pony family’s beloved stylist, Tiffany Barrios, is facing every parent’s worst nightmare. Her son, Matteo, a vibrant, adventurous boy who loves swimming, bridge-jumping, and their annual family camping trips, was suddenly struck by a rare and life-threatening condition.

What started as what seemed to be a simple head cold quickly spiraled into something unimaginable. On the second day of their vacation, Matteo became unusually weak and later woke in the night in excruciating pain. Multiple ER visits led to a shocking diagnosis: Pott’s Puffy Tumor — an extremely rare (1 in 100,000) complication of sinusitis that causes a dangerous infection in the forehead bone, sometimes spreading toward the brain.

Matteo was airlifted by helicopter to UC Davis Medical Center, where a team of neurosurgeons, ENTs, and pediatric specialists immediately prepared him for urgent surgery. Thanks to their quick action, surgery was successful — but Matteo’s fight isn’t over. He’s now in the Pediatric ICU, receiving intensive IV antibiotics and round-the-clock care to ensure the infection is fully eradicated.

This sudden crisis means Tiffany will need to step away from work to be by her son’s side for the long road to recovery. As a single mom and a cornerstone of our Pony community, she needs our support to cover basic living expenses, household bills, and the costs of being at the hospital full-time so she can focus entirely on Matteo’s healing.
