Help Tiffany and Her Kids Through This Tough Time

Hi all! My name is Tiffany Wood, single mother to my two sweet, beautiful babies Olivia (14) and Isaac (4). 2024 was not good to us, to say the least. I have polycystic kidney disease and my kidneys decided to fail this year. I am now on peritoneal dialysis which I am absolutely grateful for. Every night I plug myself into a machine that filters me overnight through a catheter I had surgically placed in my belly in August, and I get to unplug in the morning and go about my day as best as I can. It was a very invasive surgery which put me out of work for a week. I really should have gotten more rest but the show must go on and I don't qualify for disability, despite not being able to work nearly as much. Ever since, it's been seemingly never ending appointments and has been putting a strain on us financially. My landlord was understanding and let me make payments late and over time and I was able to get my car payment deferred and all was well, I just got caught up finally, yay! Until I got peritonitis, a nasty infection that could very quickly turn fatal. So here I am in the hospital for my 6th day now, which will, by the time I get out, have me out at least an entire paycheck. Living paycheck to paycheck, this is not good. I could lose my car, I live in a small town and need to travel 20 miles to work and 40 miles to my appointments at least twice a month, and have to travel 2+ hours to Iowa City in a couple of weeks for a VERY important all day appointment for transplant screening. Bills are piling up, my credit score dropped drastically so I can't get credit cards or a loan. I'm watching my world crumble from a hospital bed. At this point I'm afraid of what's to come so I am reaching out for help. If you can, my babies and I would be most thankful, really.
