Help Tiana get her surgery!

Tiana is a 7 ½ year old Shih Tzu and Bichon Frise mix female dog. She is Aunt Shannon’s baby. Shannon never had a little dog, or a daughter, so Tiana is naturally very special to her. Tiana has more nick names than anyone (except Aunt Shannon) can remember. She calls her Beautiful, NaNi, Boo Boo, Sissy, Big Girl or Princess. Tiana’s bestie is a 100 pound Rottweiler, her brother, Xavier. When Aunt Shannon walks them, neighbors frequently giggle and say they must be twins.
Unfortunately, Tiana has been very sick and in the hospital 6 times over the past two weeks. VCA Highlands Ranch and their incredible doctors have taken such good care of her. However, as you can imagine, the veterinary bills are astonishing.
Tiana first had an emergency surgery on Sunday, 11/8 to remove a stone blocking her ureter, which caused her tiny bladder to almost burst. Tiana was incredibly ill and almost lost her life. She spent 2 days in the ICU at two different VCA hospitals. (COVID also affects veterinary workers and has caused shortages in staff).
She was able to come home to recuperate on Tuesday, 11/10. For 2 days, Tiana didn’t walk, so Shannon had to carry her around to eat, to pee, to sleep. Everywhere. Tiana also wasn’t able to hold her urine, so she had to start wearing diapers (not very cool for the princess who was so embarrassed she would sleep with her face in the pillow).
On Saturday, Tiana started peeing blood and was taken back to VCA Highlands Ranch. Treated by Dr. Voss and returned home once again.
On Monday, she returned to VCA to meet Dr. McGill for follow up. Dr. McGill is a new Internal Medicine Specialist who spent the day with Tiana (keeping her in the office with her and her pet Labrador). Dr. McGill was able to rule out other causes for Tiana’s multiple problems and diagnosed her with a very rare disease called Encrusted Cystitis (causes a thick bladder wall with bladder lesions).
Tiana had to go back to the emergency hospital at VCA on Saturday, 11/28 for inability to pee. She had to spend another night in the ICU on IV fluids and under close monitoring.
After all this, the good news is that Tiana’s bladder is able to be treated and the Encrusted Cystitis can be completely healed. The treatment is a debridement of her bladder, which is successfully hoped to cure the disease for the remainder of Tiana’s life.
Aunt Shannon has already paid over $10,000 for Tiana’s treatment so far. She did have to take out a line of credit on Care Credit for $4,000 to help pay. Now we are looking at approximately $4,000 for the surgery to cure Tiana. Aunt Shannon is asking for help to pay this bill.
All she wants is enough to be able to fix her little girls bladder so she can live a long, happy and healthy life. Please help. Thank you!!
