<div>Altadena was crushed by the Eaton Fires in a matter of hours. Like many, my Tia Concha, Tio Angel, cousins Gaby, Anabelle, and Sandra lost their home in the Eaton fire on January 8th. From their account of that night, they were told to evacuate around 3am and were already seeing embers flying past them. With no time to pack their things and gather their animals, they were able to get my Tia out who is sadly dealing with Dimentia. In an effort to rescue their beloved animals, upon their return, they witnessed their home burning with little to no chance of saving much. My Tia and Tio had an immense love for animals and even bigger love for opening their doors to loved ones for a nice home cooked meal. Unfortunately, they lost absolutely everything besides the clothes on their backs. My cousin Gaby, who also lived in the home with her two teen daughters, lost everything. One of the girls is currently homeschooled, so she not only lost the safety of her home but also lost where she spent her days learning.
