<div>This is a deeply humbling moment for me. I’m someone who has always tried to figure life out on my own, to take care of my children, and to stay independent … especially after rebuilding our lives in a new state to create a safer, healthier future. But today, I’m asking for help because the weight has become too heavy to carry alone.

<div>I recently moved states to start over and build stability for my family. My daughter is thriving here … she was accepted into dual enrollment, is an appointed officer in the Black Student Union and the National Honor Society, and has made true friends. My five-year-old, who is on the spectrum, finally has a new IEP plan in motion, and he is adjusting beautifully. This move was the right decision for their well-being, growth, and safety.

<div>Then, less than three weeks ago, I unexpectedly lost my job. I’ve been applying daily, fighting to stay afloat, and holding onto hope … but winter is approaching, and we are scheduled for eviction this upcoming week if I can’t catch up. I don’t take asking lightly. I know times are hard for so many, and I know this request may stretch some hearts and wallets ….  but right now, anything helps.

<div><strong>What I’ve done so far</strong>

<div>• Filed for unemployment (awaiting a decision)
</div>
<div>• Approved for food assistance, but unable to access November benefits yet
</div>
<div>• Filed for child support (trial set early next year)
</div>
<div>• Contacted churches and community programs for rent assistance
</div>
<div>• Applying daily for jobs
</div>
<div>• Working to revive my business as a steady income stream
</div>
<div>• Managing our budget with extreme caution
</div>

<div>I have taken every responsible step I can — but it simply isn’t enough in this moment.
</div>

<div><strong>What I’m Asking</strong>
</div>

</div>
<div>I am humbly asking for $8,500 to help sustain us for the next 2–3 months. This will help cover rent, utilities, transportation, food, and basic needs through winter while I secure employment. I am committed to bouncing back …  this is just a bridge so my children and I don’t lose the home we worked so hard to create.

<div>We also have emotional-support cats who are a source of comfort for my kids during this transition. Their care costs about $60 every two months. They are part of our family and our healing, and we do not want to lose them or be forced into a shelter where they cannot go with us.

<div>I have always tried to pour into others …encouraging, educating, and sharing healing and hope online. Asking for help is not easy for me. But I’m choosing humility over silence, and faith over pride.
