Seven years ago, my uncle Jere was diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis, a painful and incurable disease that slowly destroys the pancreas. It causes constant, severe pain, problems with digestion, and often leads to dangerous complications. Doctors told him he wouldn’t live past six years, but Jere is a fighter—he’s now 42 and still pushing forward, even though his body is failing.

Over the years, he’s endured multiple surgeries and has now entered kidney failure. He’s lost over 100 pounds and is unable to work. What makes this even harder is that stress makes his condition worse—every bill, every financial worry, every struggle takes a toll not only on his mind, but also on his health, intensifying the pain he already lives with daily.

Jere is the proud father of two beautiful young children. They need their dad. They deserve to grow up with him in their lives. But right now, the weight of medical bills and daily living expenses is crushing our family, and we are doing everything we can just to stay afloat.

Chronic pancreatitis has no cure. It is a death sentence. But Jere continues to fight—not for himself, but for his babies.
