Help keep Aaron out of hospital

Aaron aka Dibsy aka Boofhead and his amazing new bride need our help. 

I've known Dibsy since we were 18 years old and we became instant adopted siblings despite him having a beautiful family of his own, Dell and Ian and his brother and 2 sisters.

Aaron was born with Cystic Fibrosis and he spent ALL his life in and out of hospital.  When he wasn't in hospital he would be packing as much fun in as he could with his friends listening to his incredibly extensive CD collection, watching his beloved football or with his adored ABPT's. I can remember him telling girls his scars from the many chest tubes were from a knife fight in prison or a spear fishing accident! Always the joker is our Dibs.

He had a promising karate career, making second dan, which was obviously cut short due to CF which pissed him off to say the least!

6 years ago Aaron was lucky enough to be the recipient of a lung transplant which is almost unheard of at that late age of 39. We all breathed a sigh of relief and he was able to finally start attending Broncos and State of Origin matches in real life instead of on tv in hospital and seeing as many bands in concert as possible,  Music and football are his big passions.

Fast forward to 2019 and the second blow came in the form of a terminal cancer diagnoses.  He had met the love of his life Shae by then and had what he always wanted - a family with Shae's daughter Mia. Despite many rounds of radiation and chemotherapy in October 2020 they got the news there was nothing more they could do.
It was decided then that Aaron would go home and hopefully achieve a few goals he wanted to before passing.  The first one was getting married and on November 8th with a beautiful backyard wedding in Laidley.  One goal ticked off.
The second was to see his beloved QLD team win at Origin game 3 and that happened too! Shae told me the smile when that siren went off  could have lit the whole stadium.

Since then he has been deteriorating a little more each day and is palliating at home in the arms of his loving wife and family. 

Dibsy's  passion for his friends and family has always run deep and he will give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.  He was never able to work for very long because he was in and out of hospital therefore has no accumulated super or savings to fall back on or carry them through this hard time. Shae has given up her job to care for him full time. 

He can be so very stubborn, which has proven to be a good trait to have as he has survived so many battles health wise and never ever given up and won't till the very last moment. 

Running a home and keeping your head above water is hard enough without a steady income or insurance to fall back on.  Imagine how much harder that would be if you were watching your loved one slip away that bit further each day.
They would never ask for help, that's just who they are, but I can.  Please help me help them navigate the devastating end of this illness by relieving a bit of financial stress. This will allow Dibsy stay at home in comfort with his girls  and out of the sterile hospital environment and to have a decent funeral. One where we can send him off the way he deserves - with his loved ones there to say goodbye and  to celebrate his life.

So apt for such an increcible human who has touched all he has met in some way shape or form.  He is so very much loved and will be dearly dearly missed.
