Help Thibaud -Dominica

First boat with supplies arriving to Thibaud

Jeff Bruney is from the village of Thibaud, in the small island of Dominica.  Linda is Jeff's wife.

On Tuesday 19 September, the eye of category 5 hurricane Maria passed over the nation-island of Dominica, causing close to complete destruction. Twentyseven dominicans are confirmed dead and another seventeen confirmed missing. At least 80 % of the buildings and most of the infrastructure have been damaged. With 100 % of the agricultural sector destroyed and supermarkets wiped out, food security is threatend. There is an acute need for food, drinking water, shelter and basic medical supplies.

Thibaud is the homevillage of Jeff and his siblings. It is a village on the north-east coast with approximately 500 inhabitants. Like the rest of the Island it has been severely damaged and food is urgently needed. This fundraiser is meant to collect money for the village council to buy food from the neighbouring Island of Guadeloupe. It will be collectively cooked in the village. Ninty-five percent of the money collected will go directly to buying food supplies (5% is charged by this site).

Once the campaign is concluded, the funds will be transfered to Linda's account. From there an international wire Will be done to the Thibaud Village Council's account at the National Bank of Dominica (NBD).

If you can, please help us to help the people of Thibaud at this critical time.

We have now reached the first goal of usd 2500 and are increasing the goal to usd 5000.
