Help the Joyce Family

Vanessa Joyce, Dana Ziegert-Joyce, and their four beautiful children lost their home on Tuesday in the devastating fires roaring through Ventura, California.

We are so very grateful they are unharmed. They were evacuated last night, and then had to be evactuated once more. 

But they have lost everything they own.

Since these pics were taken, the remaining structures have collapsed. 

The Joyce family will use the funds for immediate basic needs: clothing (they only have the pajamas they escaped with), food for them and their pets, emergency accomodation, toiletries, and other basic and immediate needs while they work out what to do now they have lost their home and all their posessions. 

Vanessa and Dana have put together an initial list of their priorities as they move forward:
*rent an apartment and fully stock it:
*beds, mattresses
*linen and towels
*kitchen tools and supplies
*bathroom supplies
*clothes for all six of them

Also, Vanessa's car is full of ash and will need to be professionally cleaned.

Vanessa and Dana are using GoFundMe's beneficiary tool, so the money will go straight to them and they can access it as needed. I am merely facilitating the awareness of this campaign among our friends, providing updates, and sharing via social media.

Marlo Garnsworthy & Vanessa's friends from Camberwell Girls Grammar School

Some background: I, Marlo, went to school with Vanessa Joyce, as did the other ladies of Camberwell Girls Grammar School (Melbourne, Australia) who are behind and supporting this campaign. Early in her adulthood, Vanessa moved to the United States and became an American citizen (as did I). She and her spouse Dana are working hard and raising four beautiful children.

The ladies in our Camberwell Girls group agreed I should lead this campaign since I am on the ground in the USA and a citizen. I live in Wakefield, Rhode Island, and am in touch with Vanessa via Facebook. Allison Golding, whom I have known since second grade, is helping me with this campaign. She lives in Melbourne, Australia, went to school with us and is one of Vanessa's best friends. She is in phone contact with Vanessa daily.
