My name is Christine and I am the General Manager for Modern Window of NY Inc. in Orchard Park NY. A year or so ago we did some work for a family in Forestville, NY, by the name of Teri and Mike Weinheimer. They purchased windows for their home and garage from us.
When their windows arrived I called them to have them installed. Teri explained to me that we could only install the window in their home and the garage had to wait. I said, Oh why wait? Teri was so excited, they had hired a contractor by the name of Stanely Martucci Construction from the area to remove their garage and add a new one along with a breezeway to the home.
Teri then explained to me that they had used money that had taken them years to save to do this project. She told me that she just put down a $25,000.00 deposit and that the job should start soon!! I congratulated them and told them I would give them a call in a few months to put in the remaining windows. A few months passed and I called Teri to see how the progress was going, she told me that the
company came to tear down the garage and asked her if she would give him another $26,000.00 so he could finish another job and buy her materials to start her job. She said that she was unsure of doing this but they PROMISED her the job would start in about a week and she would love the finished product.
A few more weeks went by and again I called Teri and she was in tears. She explained to me that she could not reach anyone from that company and no one would return her calls. She had feared that when they took her $26,000.00 that that was the LAST TIME SHE SAW THIS COMPANY!!!. Stanley Martucci Construction took their money and ran……….For weeks, months and a year she tried and tried to contact them and they were nowhere to be found. THEY TOOK THESE PEOPLE’S MONEY AND RAN.
Mike and Teri are some of the most honest and sweetest people I have ever meet. Mike is on a permanent disability and Teri is retired. This company took years of savings and just ran. Other families in the area were treated the same and Stanley Martucci Construction has nine felony counts against them. The judge ordered that he pay back the other people first, in the amount of $3000.00 and then was to pay back the Weinheimer’s $25.00 a month until they are paid back.
They received three payments in the amount of $75.00 total, then COVID-19 hit. They have not seen another dime. They are out $46,000.00 total. At $25.00 per month it will take them 153 plus years to pay them back.
My heart goes out to this family and I just could not sit still. I wish I had the money to give them, but I don’t. So I am doing the only thing I can. I AM ASKING FOR YOUR HELP.
Every Modern Window of NY Inc. employee is joining me in helping the Weinheimer family by donating $5.00 to help raise the $46,000.00 they lost. If we can reach 9,200 people to just pitch in the cost of a good cup of coffee, we will change the lives of two of the sweetest, precious people I have ever meet.
