PLEASE SEE THE UPDATE

The Uranga Family is well-known in Long Beach for their decades of public service and tireless commitment to their community.  A small group of friends are now asking the community to help us support the Uranga's during this most difficult time - Tito Uranga's recent diagnosis with a rare cancer.

Roberto (Tito) Uranga, is the youngest of the three Uranga children. He is 32 years old, a father of 4 year old Tommy, husband, brother, son, and friend.  Tito received devastating news in October 2020.  He was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer that has spread from his bladder to his lungs.  This horrible diagnosis has happened to one of the most kindhearted, laidback, and friendly humans you will ever meet.

In addition to his cancer diagnosis, both Tito and his wife Adrienne were 10+ year employees with the Hyatt in Long Beach but due to COVID-19 shutdowns, both were forced to stop working.  2020 brought on so many challenges for everyone and 2021 has Tito feeling especially defeated. Adrienne recently started a job where she commutes from Long Beach to Oceanside while Tito is attempting to work part time to keep his health benefits.

Tito's condition, stage IV Urachal Adenocarcinoma is a rare 1:1 million cancer.  This has spread specifically from his urachus/umbilical cord, to the bladder, and as mentioned earlier, now to his lungs. Tito has powered through two different Chemotherapy treatments since October and is currently driving out to UCLA for five-day long treatments.

His recent CT scan showed the urachal tumor on his bladder having slightly reduced in size; however, a couple tumors on his lungs have mildly increased. Chemotherapy has taken quite a toll on his body and because results are not what we hoped for, his oncologist has suggested immunotherapy in the coming months.

In the spirit of providing him with the same support and kindness he has shown people over the course of his young life, we are organizing this GoFundMe to help Tito, Adrienne and Tommy Uranga make it through these trying times. Tito’s sister, Rosalinda Oliva, is listed as the beneficiary.. He has designated her to help  manage paying the bills. With so much uncertainty ahead, we want Tito and his family to concentrate on his health and healing and we will fundraise to help him and his family pay for medical costs and living expenses.  We appreciate your generosity and your well wishes.
