HELP the Typhoon Victims in the Philippines

HAND-TO-MOUTH. That is the type of existence that millions of Filipinos have had even before Typhoon Rolly (international name: Typhoon Goni), world’s strongest typhoon of 2020, hit the Philippines. Beset by widespread unemployment and poverty that have been further exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic, Filipinos now find themselves in even direr straits because of the devastation that Typhoon Rolly struck them with.


Here are the numbers:

• Typhoon Rolly is the 18th typhoon to hit the Philippines this year. It had wind gusts of up to 190 mph.
• As per latest count, it had killed 22 people and displaced almost 400,000 families who have very slim chances of saving their now-destroyed homes.
• In the aftermath of Typhoon Rolly, more than 50,000 homes were without power on the main island of Luzon, which accounts for more than two-thirds of the Philippine economy.
• Typhoon Rolly is sandwiched between Typhoon Molave, which killed 22 and another incoming typhoon, typhoon Atsani, which is expected to further pummel an already pummeled nation.
 
We are a group of Filipinos/Filipino-Americans based in New York/New Jersey/ California/ Nevada who aim to pool whatever donations that we can in order to help tragedy-struck Filipinos back in our home country. Please help.

USD$1.00 is equivalent to 50 Philippine Pesos.

What $1.00 can buy:

- 2 gallons of filtered drinking water
