<div>Hi, we are three anaesthetic trainees currently completing a Global Health Fellowship in anaesthesiology in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We are spending 6 months in Tikur Anbessa, one of the biggest government hospitals in Addis, working with a group of fantastic, hardworking and committed anaesthesiology residents and consultants day in and day out. We have seen first hand the huge challenges that are faced by the anaesthetic department, with limited resources, broken equipment and a hugely overburdened health care system, contributing to poor morale and work place environment.

<div>As one of our projects, we are helping the residents to restore some of the anaesthetic equipment and spaces in the anaesthetic department. This will range from restoring the anaesthetic trolleys which store vital lifesaving equipment, to creating a comfortable rest space for the residents on call. As part of our fundraising efforts, all three of us will be taking part in the Hawassa Half Marathon on 8 February 2026.

<div>All of your donations will go directly towards purchasing vital equipment and tools to restore the anaesthetic department and make the day to day lives of the doctors just a little easier, and surgery a little safer. We are running to support our colleagues and their incredible work under extremely demanding conditions. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference.
