Help The Street Dogs of Lakey Peak

Donation protected
Lakey Peak , located in the central southern coast of the island of Sumbawa, Indonesia, is only two islands east of Bali, but is a world away from its hustle and bustle.

Best known for its incredible surf, people travel the world over to enjoy its beaches and local hospitality.

It has only been in the last three years that I started visiting Lakey Peak, but I quickly fell in love with the region and will continue to visit for the rest of my life.

But, If you've ever been you've probably noticed there are quite a few street dogs.

These dogs spend most of their time scavenging for food and are generally viewed as nuisances. They are in great need of care, but because the region lacks any veterinary care they go untreated.

As an animal lover, I always feel a bit helpless when I see these dogs because many are sick and suffering terribly from problems like parasites, skin infections, injuries , and diseases that could be prevented with proper vaccinations.

Providing care to these dogs will help alleviate their suffering, but it's also in the best interest of the local community to  treat and vaccinate these animals as they pose potential health and safety risks to the people with whom they come in contact.

I am partnering with the well established Bali Animal Welfare Association (BAWA) to help fund a veterinary trip to Lakey Peak.  BAWA has great relationships with wonderful veterinarians in Bali, and will organize a group of them to travel to Lakey.
They will spay and neuter, treat, and vaccinate as many dogs as possible with the funds raised.

All the required permits have been obtained. All we need now is the funding.

Funds raised through this campaign will go toward:

1. Round Trip travel expenses from Bali to Lakey peak
A portion of the group will travel by air  and the rest will travel by ferry / car to more easily transport the equipment and supplies they'll have to bring with them

2. Medical Equipment and supplies includes, but is not limited to,
Medication (ex:  to treat mange or parasitic infections like worms)
Vaccinations
Surgical Equipment and supplies

3.Accommodation and food expenses

Lakey has a special place in my heart and, if you've been there, I'm sure you feel the same way.
Even if you haven't been, if you're an animal lover, I hope you'll consider donating.
Any amount you can spare is greatly appreciated and will bring care to many dogs in need.

It will reduce their suffering immensely, while also benefiting the community.

*As BAWA is a 501-C3 Non-profit, all donations made are tax deductible.
