I'm reaching out today in a moment of great need for myself and my son. We are a small family farm and have been facing incredibly challenging times over the past 14 months. Our struggles began when I lost my job in June 2023, and were compounded when our vehicle broke down in September. Living out in the county, far from any public transportation and without friends or family close enough to lend a hand, we've seen our income drop by over 75% in the past two years. Meanwhile, our costs have doubled, making it increasingly difficult to keep our farm running and meet basic needs.

Our feed bill alone consumes almost all of our limited resources, forcing us to ask for help just to get by. Now, as we face the harsh reality of winter with temperatures plummeting to 17 degrees overnight, our water supply has frozen, and we are left without a proper heating system. Last winter, we relied on five electric heaters, which drove our electric bill up to an unsustainable $600 a month—a cost we simply cannot afford this year.

That’s why we are turning to you for help. We are asking for donations to purchase a wood-burning stove, a chainsaw to cut wood ourselves, and a cord of wood to get us started. The wood stove is currently on sale for $246 at Tractor Supply, but we need $450 to cover the stove and piping. Additionally, we require $150 for a chainsaw and $200 for wood. Plus, delivery fees. Your generous contributions will not only help us stay warm this winter but also ensure the survival of our family farm.
