Dear Friends,
The next phase of this campaign will shift to Southwestern Bulgaria as we extend our fundraising efforts to help our dear friend and legendary Romani zurna player Samir Kurtov, and his colleagues. Samir is one of the most astonishing musicians of any genre. He is a groundbreaking internationally renowned Artist who inspires other master musicians and who has shattered any previously perceived limitations of his instrument. Similarly to the Berovo mahala, Samir’s community is suffering from the ongoing economic fallout caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. We thank all of you for continuing with us on this journey.

Dear friends,
We are all experiencing this Coronavirus pandemic together and I know that it is a struggle for everyone at the moment, but one of the most vulnerable groups include my community of Roma. Speficially in my home town of Berovo, the Roma live almost exclusively from music. With no weddings, concerts or gatherings for the foreseeable future, hundreds of families have been left suddenly without income - and while there are some social services available, they are very limited, leaving most people wihout the means to buy food or products to sustain basic hygiene. A group of us in the diaspora community are working to raise whatever money we can to help distribute care packages to families in need. Any donation you are able to make, large or small, would be greatly appreciated.
