For those who know Lenora "Ellie" Rhoden, we can all say she is the most caring, loving and fun women anyone has ever met. Ellie fell victim to the horrendous strain of flu so many have battled this season. After a struggle that is now entering its fourth month, doctors have been forced to put her on life support. For those who don't know her Lenora, she has dedicated her entire life to her family, especially when it comes to her son who suffers from Muscular Dystrophy.
With the recent string of catastrophic events that have touched so many of us in South Florida, 2018 has gotten off to a tough start. But there is one thing we can all agree on – Floridians are strong! As we have so many times recently, we come together, uniting to help our friends and neighbors in the most desperate time of need. When times are toughest our bonds become strongest. The Rhoden family have embodied this sentiment. Whether helping neighbors or inviting anyone and everyone to their annual BBQ, providing at least one day a year where family, friends, neighbors and co-workers alike can check their worries at the door and relax the afternoon away, the Rhoden’s have been all about helping those in need.
Now is our chance to come together, pay it forward and help Dave and the Rhoden family in their biggest time of need. It’s our time to help the family that has been so quick to help everyone. Any donation, any amount, big or small, will go a long way to helping reach our goal of $100,000. Caring for his ill-stricken wife and son fighting Muscular Dystrophy are full-time jobs themselves – Dave is also fighting to maintain a full-time job to keep income coming in, something that has become virtually impossible with the surrounding circumstances.
