Help the Residents of Mulberry Park

Donación protegida
UPDATE:  Please check updates as stories from the local news will be posted there.  This has been covered by the Index-Journal, WSPA 7,  and WYFF 4.
There will be a Protest on August 14th, 2019 at the Greenwood County Courthouse at 10 AM.

We live in Mulberry Park as well as 21 other families.  Multiple people down here own their homes and some rent their homes.  Yesterday, without any warning , every person in Mulberry Park was evicted.  No one has the funds to move and I would like to help all of us move either into new homes or move the homes we already have.  The fees for moving a mobile home are over $2500 for a single wide and $5000 for a doublewide.  That is just a starting price.  Each family is in desperate need of help.  With multiple children in each family, the savings they may have had just was spent on school supplies and school clothes.  We all have 30 days and may be able to get an additional 20 days after we are served by the court, but there are not many open houses and moving expenses are high.  Please help raise money to help the people of Mulberry Park.  The money will be split up between the families to help ease the relocation fees.   We need help fast as we only have till September 15th at this time https://www.facebook.com/elora.turner/videos/2581678418522874/UzpfSTEwMDAwMDQyMjIyNjAwMToyNTgxNjkzNDIxODU0NzA3/
We will also accept legal help, donations of land or lots, and mobile home moving service discounts as all this will help the people who live here.
Please help in anyway you can.

There are many disabled, elderly and veterans in this park that are on very limited incomes.  They have no way to move out and have been here for many years.

We have contacted the news they were sent this message:

Hello,

I live in Mulberry Park in Hodges, SC as well as 21 other families most with children. Today we got notices on our doors that Mulberry park is closing and everyone has 30 days to vacate their premises. A portion of the families in this park, including myself actually own our trailers. Their solution was to find another rent in the town through the rental agency. The problem is that there is a rental shortage in this town and now 21 other families are either looking for a lot or for a new home altogether. It is quite costly to move a home between $3000-$5000. No one has that kind of money on hand. Plus there are set up fees and other costs to pay after the home is moved. I have friends who have been looking for three months and can't find anything affordable. Some of the mobile homes down here have even been bricked in making it extremely difficult to move or they have multiple fixtures in their yards that would need to be moved as well. No one saw this coming and people are scared. The school year is starting and now they may have to change schools. The people here need help. Legal intervention if necessary. Please help us! Our local paper has already picked up the story, but all of our friends who are sharing my video have told me to go to bigger news stations.

Sincerely,
Elora Turner
