Help The Regent get a lift! Provide access to ALL!
The Regent cares deeply about inclusion in every aspect. We want EVERYONE to be able to enjoy our Shows and Movies. Every single week we get requests for disabled access. We have found the solution! This platform lift will enable us to provide access for ALL.
We will be getting TWO lifts, one from the entry to the Foyer, and the other to deliver from the Foyer into the Theatre. Thus allowing twice as many patrons to be utilising the service and shortening the wait time for lifts to return. We are very excited to be able to install this soon! But we need your help! Every little bit is greatly appreciated.
Suitable for anyone with mobility issues, capable of taking full electric wheelchairs (Load capacity 300kg), with a handy seat to flip down and sit safely for those who aren't wheelchair bound. Musicians, performers and their crew will also be relieved of a massive bump in challenge! Making it easier for everyone to enjoy more Live Shows!
This type of platform stairlift is a fraction of the cost of installing a full elevator, with less intrusion to a beautiful old Art Deco Heritage listed building. (Recently turned 74!) Bringing it dynamically to the 21st Century standards of providing access for EVERYONE.
The measurements are done and the railings being manufactured. The deposit was paid thanks to a previous Patron's bequeathment and a personal donation... We will need the balance for payment before installing. Time is of the essence as our aim was as an anniversary gift (July 31st)
