Hello there, I'm Lol and I'm the proud owner of The Professional Widow in Sunderland.
I rent a studio space affectionately known as "The Portal" within the Eagle Buildings. It's here where I offer holistic and beauty treatments, host wellness workshops, and sell ethically sourced crystals and other metaphysical tools.
Unfortunately, in the early hours of Sunday, June 9, 2024, The Portal was broken into, and many items I use for my work were stolen. This includes a significant portion of my crystal collection, worth thousands of pounds.
This incident has really shaken me up and left me feeling vulnerable. The Portal has always been a tranquil and magical place, but right now, it feels anything but. It's been a couple of days since the break-in, and I'm still feeling bewildered and unsure about how to move forward.
Some kind-hearted folks suggested setting up a fundraiser, although I was initially hesitant, it's becoming clear that I won't be able to reopen for at least a few weeks. In the meantime, I'm losing income due to cancelled markets, workshops, and appointments.
I need to take stock of the stolen items, work closely with the police, file an insurance claim and do a deep clean. I still need to cover rent, bills, insurance excess, the cost to replace stolen and damaged stock and treatment products.
I also hope to enhance security by installing a CCTV system, but handling the financial burden of all the above is proving to be quite difficult. That's why I'm reaching out for help and have decided to follow your advice to set up this fundraiser.
If you can contribute, I would truly appreciate your support. Your generosity will help cover the costs mentioned above. Anything remaining will be reinvested to enhance The Portal and The Professional Widow for all of us to enjoy in the future.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Your kindness and encouragement mean the world to me.
With love and heartfelt gratitude,
Lol
