These loving parents of 4 and grandparents of 6, Robert and Deb are in desperate need of assistance.
Robert has been diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer that, despite surgery, has spread to multiple locations. He is about to embark in a clinical trial of intense Hormone, Radiation, and Chemo treatments. In conjunction to his medical and travel bills, Robert and Deb will be required to stay in a hotel for 4 weeks during this trial.
Deb is battling several forms of severe multi-organ Sarcoidosis, to include Neuro, Bone, and Lung Sarcoid, amongst other things. Her disease causes debilitating symptoms. The severity of these symptoms prevents her employment. However, she is lost in the disability system and Roberts small disability payment is currently their sole source of income. Despite this limited income, they miss qualifying for any government assistance by $24.
While the singular nature of Robert and Deb’s conditions are devastating, the combination of everything is almost too much to bear. On top of normal living cost and medical bills, they have 50 regular prescriptions between them, and are required to CONSTANTLY travel to appointments across the entire state of Ohio. In a single week they pay upwards of $230 in gas for travel. This does not include other expenses that accrue. Their extremely limited income does not come close to covering these medical costs. They are falling into a pit with no end in sight.
