The Oak Bluffs Business Association is raising funds to bring back the beloved Fireworks celebration, a tradition that takes place each August, marking the grand finale of a summer of fun on Martha’s Vineyard. After a two-year hiatus, this summer would mark the 45th year for the annual fireworks display.
With its unique ability to bring together our diverse community of visitors and locals alike, the fireworks celebration has always served as a safe, enjoyable, family-friendly activity that highlights the beauty of our town and its individuality.
Through this fundraising effort, we hope to continue the longstanding tradition that has established itself as the pinnacle of a Summer well spent, a chance for the community to gather in Ocean Park and witness a truly remarkable show. Covid has upended many of our lives, and the fireworks celebration has been no exception. After a two-year pause due to Covid and changes in the management of the event, the OBA is committed to assisting the Town of Oak Bluffs in bringing this iconic event back to downtown Oak Bluffs.
With your help, the money raised from this GoFundMe campaign will be used to fund the cost of orchestrating the event, including but not limited to: payment to the fireworks vendor, the cost of fireworks and other materials, all necessary signage and police detail required for the event.
As we plan for the 2022 fireworks, we are eager to continue this longstanding tradition and are grateful for any donation, large or small, to help bring back this community event.
The OBA was established in 1991 and is committed to promoting the businesses, activities and attractions of Oak Bluffs by establishing harmonious working relationships among members of the business community, civic associations, Town officials and the citizens of Oak Bluffs.
