<div>A family in our community has been hit hard. A catastrophic incident has devastated many local businesses along Route 9 in Lake George on May 16, 2025. Whippoorwill Campground was in the direct line of all damage. Leaving the family owned business with significant water damage and financial loss. After just finishing new renovations to their business, to welcome new guests for the summer, everything has now been completely destroyed. Water was raging like a river through Whippoorwill's Campground, building, home, and common areas. The Morgan family lives here with their whole family and two grandchildren. One was just born 2 weeks ago. They have been apart of the Lake George community for years supporting other small businesses like themselves. Without being anywhere near water, they did not have flood insurance. The closest body of water was miles away on a mountain (Butler Pond). A beaver dam broke through and caused rushing water that no one could imagine for hours on end. Starting at around 9:30 pm last night without stopping until around 3:00 am. Unfortunately, insurance will not cover any damages that occurred. This business is a loved spot by many, providing jobs, services, and a sense of community. Now they need our immediate help to rebuild their business and home. The summer season is already here, there is no time to spare. Please share &amp; donate.
